....I'm Fast Learning Our Ability To Accumulate...EXCEEDS...Our Ability To Store & Sell...It Seems The Epidemic Of STUFF & Collections Of STUFF....Is A Pandemic Epidemic Affecting America....Just Look At The Storage Places Popping Up On Every Corner...People Gotta Pay To Store Their STUFF...We Have 2 Units...Ouch !...And Are Trimming It FAST!!!!
....Those Big Chinese -Taiwan- Hong Kong -Japanese- ETC...Container Ships Stacked 5 High ....Dumping Their STUFF....& We All Got To Have A Place To Store It...After We All Buy It....OBVIOUSLY..Out Of Balance.....Too Much Stuff...And Will Soon Hit A Wall...I Project !...Used Stuff Is Virtually WORTHLESS...& Some Of It Was Never Fit For Use...Only Appeared To Be Worth-Our-While & Money....I Saw It This Weekend...First Hand....!...People Could Not Give Stuff Away !
....Ben's Idea Of Digging A Big Hole & Dumping It In...Is Just Barely Behind His Better Idea....of Burning It....[If It Will Burn]....His Burn Pile & Dumpster.... West Of His Place Is The Often Recipient ~ Of Too Much Stuff..!
Now Old Sewing Machines...Different Story...,...These Older Machines Are Double Tough...And Metal Does Not Get Brittle....As Plastic Does...So They Age Better.....As Long As They Are Kept DRY....They Generally Can Be Saved....When Roy Sprayed Down The Kenmore He Rescued....He Saved Its Future....By The Way, Roy & Mona.....The Man Who Has It...Is Happy And Sewing.....Loves It.....He Communicated That To Us.....Cool...Huh?
I ended up with 4 machines to work on this weekend....2 are real old..one of them..A Black ~ "SPARTAN"....is rusted Some..Badly In Bobbin AREA....The Bobbin Is A Total Loss......but I freed it....Now it turns By Hand Easily.........don't know if it will ever sew again....But I Will Try To Save It !!

....A Lady Gave Us Her Family "New Home" Machine....Really Nice In Great Shape.....Multi Stitch.....More Modern But All steel.....Built Like A Battle Ship ! She Could Not Sew Any More With Her Arthritis....And It Needed Help !!....Been Sitting Idle For Years ! I Have Not Started On It Yet.....We Will See...It Appears To Be Ok !...A Prize & Will Take 3 Hours Or So !
.....Last But Not Least...Is Another Black Steel Heavy Duty 80++ Year Old "New Home"...Single Stitch....Built Heavy....Like An Anvil.....No Rust...just jammed....it took 2 hours to loosen it..Pliers ...And A Small Tack Hammer's Help..spinning by hand now.....not sure if it will sew....but it is so unique...and such a challenge....Dr. Dusty Must Try To Give It Back...Another Life.....I Think It Will Make The Test...And Sew Again !
...The Old Oils & Greases.... had a lot of paraffin wax in them.....that is the culprit I deal with....BUT......3-In-One..."Penetrating Oil"...Dissolves The Paraffin Wax...& Does Not Stink Up The House...Like Kerosene Does ~ Which They Used In The Past......With Patience & Care-Full Effort & Pliers-Hammer & A Heat Gun....They Move A Millimeter...Then Are Soon Spinning,,,... ...Like Roy's "Break-Out"...Lube Cleaner For Guns..... Then I.....Spin It Fast......Re-Lube With Full Synthetic Mobil 1...5w/15....Spin More....It Will Never Paraffin Again !
...It Is Amazing to see them...SEWING.....After So Many Years,,,,The Old Mechanical Metal Designs Are So Genius....Much like In Old Precision Guns & Watches....Because Of Their Metallurgy & Strength & Gearing...They PUNCH...Hard....No Wossies Here.....Get The Finger Out Of The way.....Or You Will Get It Perforated.....Finger Nail & Finger Too !....

We Have Found A Market For The Repaired & Functioning Metal Machines On Facebook Local Closed Garage Sales Groups....Good People...No Craigslist Scammers Yet...YEAH!!..& Real Live Administrators That Approve Good People & Eliminate Scammers.....It Is Time Consuming & Some Laborious To Enter Info...But Easy To Transfer It To Other Facebook Groups After It Is Entered...
It Is Very Nice To Have That Option So Far !...Most Of Our Buyers Are Men,...Young & Old...A 71 Yr Old Male Leather Crafter Is My Oldest....A 25 Yr Old Young Man Mountain Climber Is Youngest...Some Guys Have Never Sewn,...& We Teach Them In An Hour Or So To Do Basic Sewing !...I Just Sold A Kenmore To A 45 Year Old Military Barber In Killeen...Never Sewn...Used To Watch His Mom Sew....He Is So Excited To Be Able To Alter Clothing He Can Buy Cheap For His Kids & His Self....& Sew For Others !...& The Women Crafters,...They Like The Fancy Multi Stitch More Modern Machines That Sew FAST FAST FAST !!!!!....Crafters Across The Board Are Really Nice Kind And Caring Folks,...We Have Found...Most Are Pleasant To Do Business With And Are Appreciative Of Our Kindness Too ! A Win-Win !
